Virtual Teacher’s Day Celebration 2025

Hello everyone,

On 5th September 2025, the Department of English at M.K.B. University celebrated Virtual Teachers’ Day. This day offers us a special opportunity to recognize and appreciate the profound impact teachers have on our lives. It goes beyond simply expressing gratitude; it is also a reminder of how education influences the society around us. Teachers encourage us to question, to take responsibility, and to envision possibilities that extend far beyond our everyday experiences.

We put together a heartfelt video as a tribute to our teachers. Much like the everlasting melody of R.K narayan's short story "An Astrologer Day" this video is a humble attempt to celebrate the enduring care, wisdom, and guidance our teachers provide.

To make the celebration interactive, we also prepared a short quiz based on the video. After attempting, participants receive a certificate a symbol of appreciation.

💠 Reflection on An Astrologer’s Day

R.K. Narayan’s short story An Astrologer’s Day offers a fascinating glimpse into human nature, fate, and morality. The story made me reflect on how appearances can be deceiving, and how people often judge others without knowing the full truth. The astrologer, though seemingly ordinary, reveals wisdom, courage, and cleverness in handling a potentially dangerous situation. The story also raises questions about destiny and free will how much of our lives are determined by our choices versus the circumstances we encounter? Overall, it reminded me that life is full of unexpected twists, and that compassion and understanding are essential in dealing with others.

💠 Conclusion:

Teachers’ Day is a heartfelt reminder of the invaluable role teachers play in shaping our lives and society. It is a day to express our gratitude, celebrate their dedication, and reflect on the lessons that go beyond textbooks lessons of wisdom, kindness, and inspiration. Let us carry forward their guidance and continue to honor their efforts, not just today, but every day, as we strive to make the world a better place.
